Van Goat and Bululú @Point Richmond Music

Point Richmond Music (PRM's) free summer concert season concludes on Friday, August 23rd with Van Goat and Bululú! You won't want to miss this free show.

PRM's free festival takes place on the fourth Friday of each month, June through August, from 5:30pm to 7:45pm in historic downtown Point Richmond (Park Place between West Richmond and Washington Avenues).

Local restaurants offer a wide array of cuisines, and a rotating selection of food trucks pull up to each concert. Concert-goers can pair fine food with beverages served in biodegradable cups from PRM’s no host bar, with proceeds directly supporting the music series. Festival-style seating is available with a limited number of chairs provided, and concert-goers are encouraged to bring their own festival/lawn chairs.

PRM, an all-volunteer non-profit organization, produces the series in support of its mission to build community through the unifying language of music. Visit www.pointrichmondmusic.org for more information.

Growing Dahlias @ Annie's Annuals

Come join us at the Nursery for a FREE talk about how to grow beautiful Dahlias,
one of the most generous and rewarding flowers in the garden. Jill Sowards of Violetear Studio will begin with a discussion about planting Dahlias — in the ground, in pots, or a raised bed — and initial care in order to get the best blooms, but will then focus on end-of-season care in order to ensure next year's best blooms. This will be part two of a two-part Dahlia talk, but you need not have attended the first part in order to attend this talk. All are welcome.

See our full schedule of upcoming talks and events on our website at https://blog.anniesannuals.com/events/category/events/

DESOTO REDS - RECORD RELEASE PARTY @ Baltic Kiss

DESOTO REDS (Record Release Show!) Saturday, August 17, 2024, 8 p.m., 11:55 p.m.

East Bay indie rock band Desoto Reds features literate and catchy songwriting, unpredictable arrangements, and psychedelic lap steel and organ. Desoto Reds have released multiple albums, made it into the CMJ top 200 once, and have played countless shows in the Bay Area, including, many moons ago, an opening slot with Of Montreal. We're too rocking to be jangle pop, too melodic to be prog rock, too angular for classic rock, and not young enough to be emo.

Reformed in 2021, the Reds have lots of new songs recorded by a 16-year-old producer named AddieSteri. The band features Alex Sterling (guitar/vocals), Jeremiah Johnson (drums), Scott Yowell (lap steel and keyboards), and Dan Lieberman (bass).

PLUS

CONSOLIDATED ELECTRIC - Like lightning shooting out of a feverishly inspired mind, Consolidated Electric makes music that startles and illuminates, jolting even the most jaded listener awake. The 20,000 Megawatt sound can dazzle, unsettle and delight, sometimes simultaneously. That’s the uncanny power of Consolidated Electric.
