Shooting reported at Bella Vista, victim expected to survive

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in the 3400 block of Richmond Parkway.

Officers responded to the scene at 12:41 p.m. on Friday, December 27. They found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to Lynnelle Sanchez, Public Information Officer for the Richmond Police Department.

“They were transported to a local hospital and are expected to survive,” Sanchez said.

Authorities obtained information about a possible suspect vehicle that may have been heading toward Oakland. The details were shared with the Oakland Police Department as the investigation continues.

Through October, Richmond has had 133 shooting incidents, with 48 subjects hit by gunfire, according to the Richmond Police Department shooting report.
