The cities of Richmond and San Pablo joined together on Saturday to host their first-ever Latin American Independence Day Parade, a vibrant celebration of culture and community. Dubbed the "Fiestas Patrias," the event served as a replacement for this year's Cinco de Mayo parade, which was postponed due to rain last spring.

Organized by the Cinco de Mayo Committee, the parade kicked off at 10 a.m. at 24th Street and Barrett Avenue in Richmond and concluded at St. Paul’s Church in neighboring San Pablo.

Families and children took part in the festivities, enjoying traditional music, colorful costumes, and a sense of unity across the two cities. The event showcased the vibrant cultural traditions of the local Latin American community, providing a joyous atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
