Richmond Police investigate shooting on 25th Street; one injured
A victim was wounded in a shooting Tuesday evening on 25th Street, according to Richmond Police. Officers initially responded to the 300 block of 25th Street around 7:47 p.m. after a ShotSpotter gunshot detection activation, but no victims were located at the scene.
Lt. Donald Patchin, Public Information Officer for the Richmond Police Department, said approximately 10 minutes later, officers received reports of a shooting victim at a business in the 2400 block of Macdonald Avenue.
“Officers responded and located a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound,” Patchin said. “The victim received medical treatment at the scene and was transported to a local trauma center, where they are expected to survive their injuries.”
Police said the shooting investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
