7:30 p.m. Polls close in 30 minutes; if you have not voted, head out now. We will begin posting results as soon as they are available once the polls close at 8 p.m.

5 p.m. Just three hours before the polls close – short lines at most polling locations in Richmond. We will start to post local results as soon as they are available; check back for updates.

2 p.m. Helen Nolan, Assistant Registrar-Contra Costa County, provided Grandview with the following update:
We’re seeing high turnout numbers and lots of ballots being dropped off in our secure ballot drop boxes. Our teams are working hard to check on and empty all our drop boxes throughout the day. All our polling places are running well—we’ve had a few instances of electioneering, but nothing major to report. The first results will be released just after 8 p.m. and will include all VBMs received through Saturday, November 2, and all Early Voting in-person ballots cast. Our subsequent results will be released no less than every two hours until we have all of our in-person Election Day ballots tabulated.

1 p.m. Little to no waiting at most Richmond polling places; now is a great time to cast your vote.

9 a.m. We are live and will post updates and information as we receive it. Check back throughout the day for the latest election news.

7 a.m. The polls are now open in across California.
