Osorio named Richmond Fire Chief

Today, Richmond Firefighters local 188 announced that Aaron Osorio has been tapped to become the city's next Fire Chief.

Osorio has more than 27 years of experience in fire service, 21 of which have been with the City of Richmond Fire Department. In serving the community, Osorio has held numerous positions, including Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, Training Director, and most recently, Deputy Fire Chief.

Richmond firefighters wrote in a social media post, "Osorio has a vast understanding of and personal experience with the unique challenges that our fire department and, more importantly, the Richmond community face."
"We are eager to see what the future holds for the Richmond Fire Department as Chief Osorio leads us into the future and beyond."

Osorio was named Interim Fire Chief last fall following the departure of previous Fire Chief Angel Montoya.
