Ray Goodman & The Soulmates @ The Sailing Goat

Ray Goodman is a passionate singer and songwriter with unique takes on classic R&B and Soul favorites. Born in New York, raised in Ohio on 70’s Classic Rock 80’s Pop and 90's Neo Soul. Ray’s love of music began at 11, singing along to radio hits such as "Just the Two of Us" and "Sara Smile." After moving to the SF Bay Area, he sang tenor for 20 years with Conspiracy of Beards, a 30-men choir performing new arrangements of Leonard Cohen songs. He's performed across the Bay Area, in New York, Berlin, Amsterdam and Prague. During live shows, Ray loves connecting to the crowd, sharing his deep passion and respect for R&B and Soul. Inspired by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Al Green and Bill Withers, Ray finds solace in their music and reinterprets classic hits with his new uptempo band: Ray Goodman and The Soulmates. SWINGIN SAFARI @ Riggers Loft

What happens when veteran rock & blues musicians discover jazz? It’s a delightful walkabout with Swingin Safari as they explore the familiar, yet rarely performed songs from American & European songwriters/lyricists. Classic jazz and pop music performed with verve, a bit of naiveté and a sense of adventure. A fresh surprise around every corner: Dizzy, Duke, Bacharach, Brubeck, Porter & Mancini. Get ready to travel with leaving your seat…unless you find the need to take a spin around the dance floor! SWINGIN SAFARI Friday October 18
