The Civic Center Farmers Market celebrated its return to its previous location in front of the Richmond Public Library with a special event on Friday, May 10.

The celebration organizers promised an exciting day of live music, games, activities for all ages, prepared foods, and a delightful story time session presented by the library staff.

In 2007, the city requested that Richmond Certified Farmers Market move the market to the northern section of a city-owned parking lot located on Barrett Avenue between 24th Street and 25th Street due to construction at the Civic Center.

The Civic Center Farmers Market has been a staple in Richmond for over 40 years, providing the community access to fresh, locally-grown produce and fostering an atmosphere of togetherness.

The market will need to move again when renovations at the library begin in two years.
