Guitarist and composer Lee Waterman's band, Jazz Caliente, infuses its music with lively Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms. This is an all-star ensemble whose members have appeared with such luminaries as Dizzy Gillespie, Pete Escovedo, Linda Ronstadt, Michael Bolton, and the Temptations. The band's repertoire ranges from Lee’s original compositions to tunes by Miles Davis, Tito Puente, Duke Ellington, and Sergio Mendes. Support Local Musicians - $5 Music Cover Charge.

5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. – Miracle Mule - The Bay Area's Favorite Swampy Tonk Dance Band! Miracle Mule is a highly energetic, infectiously fun dance band from Marin County.  They play good-time Americana with some spicy Louisiana seasoning – or what they prefer to describe as "swampy-tonk."  So that's a tasty melange of country honky-tonk, cajun/zydeco, rockabilly, blues and country swing. 

6:45 p.m .- 7:45 p.m. – Deep Blue Jam - LORIN ROWAN. “Deep Blue Jam” band featuring Lorin Rowan & co-founder/ co-writer Kirk Casey’s original songwriting-mandolin/guitar based Americana “Bluezgrass”-Roots/Rock/Funk fusion with fellow band members, Eric McCann/bass and Matt Willis/drums, all of whom have played with a wide variety of virtuoso musicians from Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon), Phil Lesh, David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Levon Helm, Bill Kreutzman, Jim Keltner, Steve Cropper, Clarence Clemmons, Bonnie Raitt, The Drifters and many others.

Point Richmond Music (PRM's) free summer concert season continues this Friday, July 26 with Miracle Mule and Lorin Rowan & Deep Blue Jam! You won't want to miss this free show.

PRM's free festival takes place on the fourth Friday of each month, June through August, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in historic downtown Point Richmond (Park Place between West Richmond and Washington Avenues). 

Local restaurants offer a wide array of cuisines, and a rotating selection of food trucks pull up to each concert. Concert-goers can pair fine food with beverages served in biodegradable cups from PRM’s no-host bar, with proceeds directly supporting the music series. Festival-style seating is available with a limited number of chairs provided, and concert-goers are encouraged to bring their own festival/lawn chairs. 

Art and Music Festival@ East Richmond Heights

The East Richmond Heights Art and Music Festival returns for its 5th year! This fun, free, family-friendly event takes place on Saturday, July 27, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. along Bernhard Avenue outside the Gyuto Foundation Monastery (6401 Bernhard Avenue, Richmond). This 100% volunteer-organized festival celebrating the artistic spirit of East Richmond Heights has grown to more than 50 outstanding vendors this year. Shop from some of our best local artists working in graphic arts, painting, photography, jewelry, leather, stone, metal, pottery, candles, clothing and bags, and other crafts. Grab some delicious food from more than ten food vendors and enjoy a full schedule of local musicians taking to the stage. Explore the gardens and prayer wheels and take in the view of Wildcat Canyon from Gyuto Monastery. Face painting and chalk art for the kids. Speakers: Steve Danziger has been a Master Gardener volunteer since 2015 and is a regular volunteer at “Our Garden”, Master Gardener demonstration garden in Walnut Creek, he presents educational talks on Composting, and has staffed the Ask a Master Gardener Table at the Farmers Market for several years. In 2018, Steve was elected to the Moraga Orinda Fire District Board of Directors and was re-elected in November. Steve retired as Administrative Services Manager with the Oakland Fire Department and prior to that worked for the National Park Service in Arizona and at Yosemite. Both seasoned players having toured Europe and the US, sharing stages with countless bands from the likes of Tune YardsBombinoJane BirkinBright EyesThe Faint and more, the two bring their more hidden but equally engaging talent for elegant French-cafe, classic jazz and romantic original songs in this intimate line-up.
