THE VAXXINES with Local Bylaws, The Rinds, and The Krypters

Local Bylaws: Forged as a California fever dream between their wild impulses and the stark realities of adulthood, Local Bylaws is a rock band founded on punk ethos and truth-telling with a positive spin. With shreddy guitars, blistering drums, and vocals somewhere between Gwen Stefani and Brody Dalle, these union members may sound like a basement riot, but their lyrics belie layers of lived experience. Their latest single, "Impostor Syndrome," is available now.

The Rinds: have been storming California stages since 2011. Their brand of Rock N Roll/Garage/Punk is infectious and extremely energetic. Everyone in the band sings their own original songs of rebellion and freaknick stupidity!

The Krypters- A classic five piece garage/punk rock band with great early 80's punk energy and a charismatic front man leading the way. " - El Rio reviews

Fantastic Negrito @ Pt Richmond Music

We’re thrilled to open our season this Friday, 6/28 with the Bay Area’s own Fantastic Negrito, winner of three consecutive GRAMMYs for Best Contemporary Blues Album! Fantastic Negrito is an internationally-known musical artist who has performed at nearly every major festival on the map, and now will play a free full-length show at our community festival. Fantastic Negrito, born Xavier Amin Dphrepaulezz, is also the founder of the nonprofit Revolution Plantation, an urban farm aimed at youth education and empowerment.

Local restaurants offer a wide array of cuisines, and a rotating selection of food trucks pull up to each concert. Concert-goers can pair fine food with beverages served in biodegradable cups from PRM’s no-host bar, with proceeds directly supporting the music series. Festival-style seating is available with a limited number of chairs provided, and concert-goers are encouraged to bring their own festival/lawn chairs.

PRM's free festival takes place on the fourth Friday of each month, June through August, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in historic downtown Point Richmond (Park Place between West Richmond and Washington Avenues).  Visit www.pointrichmondmusic.org for more information.

Hellstrip Gardening @ Annies Annuals

Join us for a FREE talk on transforming that tricky little space between the sidewalk and the curb, often called the “hellstrip.” Gardening in this spot can be challenging—there’s usually no irrigation, and plants can get stolen, vandalized, or trampled by people and dogs. But despite these challenges, there’s a lot of joy in beautifying this public space and making your neighbors smile. For some, it’s the only garden space available. In this talk, Ellyn will discuss plant choices, materials, and design tips. Attendees will leave feeling inspired and ready to turn your hellstrip into a little piece of heaven! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts. June 30 @ 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Annie's Annuals Nursery is located at 740 Market Ave. in Richmond, CA

Plant Swap @ Richmond Main Library

The Richmond Public Library invites you to explore the world of horticulture and develop your gardening skills. All levels of gardening experience are welcome.
